The basic perception infolded in the Root is that of  a dissolved or emaciated state by disease or excessive grief or by excessive love leading one to the point of death or endangering life. Hence it is employed to urge, excite, incite, instigate and rouse to ardour to avert the threat to life. A dissolved and emaciated state puts the energy and life retaining body heat to a lower level. Exciting and inciting creates an urge for recovery and energizes the body heat and energy.

When war is imposed upon believers by the disbelievers, it not puts their physical life at stake but threatens even their real life in the hereafter since in case of subjugation their belief and code of conduct will also be at jeopardy. [Same advice in 4:84]
