Alif; [Letter but not consonant and Two syllabic] consonants of Arabic alphabet ( أبجدية عربية‎),  Laam and Meem. Initial letter Alif [Aleph] has no speech sound and is not conjoined with the succeeding consonants while Laam and Meem are conjoined, and both have above them ancillary glyph/ prolongation sign/mark which changes the sound value of the letter to which it is added. It reflects that the Book in hand is in the language that has letters and other marks, representing that its writing system is letter-diacritic combination based, resulting in the combination of sounds that form a syllable, rather than a single sound. [2:01; this is also first Ayah of Chapter 3,29,30,31 & 32]

This is that Book within which there is absolutely no suspicious/conjectural/whimsical/un-certain/ perplexing/ disconcerting/illusory matter/conflicting statement [this feature makes it the Unique Book, the only infinitely reliable Book since it is sent by the Sustainer Lord of Worlds-10:37;32:02].

This Book is [serves as] the Guide [the Manual sent by the Creator containing guidance for every moment in time and space to lead the created ones, Jinn and human beings to the straight path of destination] for those people who endeavor  remaining cautious, heedful, and mindful,  [2:002]

[in time and space Mutta'qeena are those people] who accept/believe in the presence/existence [of  Creator-Allah, and what is stated in the Book] without being in their sight; [ does not mean blind faith. "Blind faith" can never make anyone sincere to anything. It is self deception. it denotes the fact of existence and presence not being in sight/vision. The minimum level of being a rational person is to accept the existence and presence of one's creator since he knows he is not the creator of himself. Only such man possessing minimum level of rationality could be admonished/warned/ revived/advised by the Messenger and the Book-21:49;23:57;35:18;36:11;50:33;67:12]

and they maintain/ manage/organize/stand for the performance of  Ass-sa'laat, and out/part of the worldly resources, which We have given them as sustenance, they spend [only for seeking approval and attention of Allah]. [2:003]

And [in the present time and space] Mutta'qeena are those, who accept/believe in that [Grand Qur'aan] which has since been sent to you, the Messenger Muhammad [Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam] and they also accept/believe what was sent/revealed by Allah [from the Book; not conjectural myths/books written by human hands and captioned with names of Allah's Books-5:48] in the times before you [which you certified/sanctified with/in Qur'aan]. They are the people who are heading [towards/to return to the original destination/abode] on the guidance [given in "My Aaya'at" in the Qur'aan] from their Sustainer Lord.

And they are the people [almuef'li'hoona active participle] who endeavor for perpetual success/fruitfulness. [2:05 and verse 31:05 are exactly identical, mirror]

[You the Messenger Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam be informed that] Indeed for those, who have already deliberately refused to accept [Grand Qur'aan];

 it is one and the same thing upon them [outcome/result wise] whether you had admonished them or you had not admonished them, they will not accept, today and in future. [2:06]

Allah has let [because of their deliberate/conscious denial to accept the truth/fact] the cover keep veiling upon their hearts and upon their audition [passage of entry closed since they have veiled their intellect and perception with other things/preconceived conjectural notions/vested interests]; and upon their faculty of vision is a veil [obscuring them to see the fact].  [To conceive the perception and meanings of more in detail, please read 36:7-10, 45:23]

And for them is a grave torment [in wait on the Day of Resurrection]. [2:07]

And amongst (in those days, Jew) people, there are those who say, claiming "We have accepted the belief in Allah and the Last Day"And the fact is that they are certainly not the believers. [They are Muna'fi'qeen, the pre-requisite, the first characteristic of Muna'fi'qeen is their claim of believing in Allah, the Last Day and just saying that Muhammad Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam is the Messenger of Allah as told in 63:01. Therefore it should not be translated by the word Hypocrite, since amongst non believers there could be hypocrites but they are NOT Muna'fi'qeen, they will have a better class/place in Hell than Muna'fi'qeen]  [2:08]

[By false declarations in believer's society they perceive as if] They deceive Allah and those people who have accepted [wholeheartedly the Messenger and Grand Qur'aan]; and in fact they deceive none [by false declaration of belief] except their own selves and they do not perceive this fact. [This is solely the peculiar characteristic of Muna'fi'qeen-see 4:142]  [2:09]

There is a disease in their hearts [personality/psychological disorder] and Allah has caused/let [by leaving them as condemned/discarded] their disease increase. And for them is severe punishment [in wait] because they persistently contradict  publicly [the statements of Qur'aan][2:10]  

And when it is said for [to] them, "You people do not create disorder/imbalance/ distortions/spread wicked, unsound  ideas in the society", they reply, claiming, "We are indeed  the perfectionists".  [2:-11]

No, the fact of the matter is that indeed they are the ones who distort/create disorder/imbalances/ spread wicked unsound ideas but they do not realize [since don't reflect/do not see beyond their selfish vested interests]. [2:-12]

And when it is said for [to] them: "Believe in the manner as others from amongst the other  people {at that time from Jews and Nisa'ra} have believed", they replied: "Should we believe like/in the manner/what the fools have believed?" No, the fact of the matter is that they are indeed the ones who are fools, but they do not know/intend to know. [2:13]

And when they confront the ones [whom they regard fools on their back] who have [truly] believed, they say to them, "We have accepted/ believed";

 but when they are in privacy with their evil ones, they say to them: "We are certainly with you people; with them we only jest". [2:14] [read in conjunction 2:76, it confirms that earliest Muna'fi'qeen were from Jews]

[These fools do not understand that] Allah is ignoring them and have left them/let be stretched in their blind distracted wandering. (by their brothers, evil-doers Refer 7:202) [2:15]

These are the people who have purchased vagrancy/straying in barter of Guidance, For this {bad bargain} reason they could not benefit from their commerce {perception/hope of enjoying favour from both parties; instead even lost the confidence of their original party}, and nor could become guided [to enjoy the support of the Guided ones]. [2:16]

The semblance of these {Muna'fi'qeen} people is as if a man kindled a fire and when it caused his surroundings become heated and lighted, [his action did not benefit them as] Allah took away these people's "visible light" and left them in layers of darkness where they cannot have vision. [2:17]

[One responds only when differentiates, see 2:171]

These people [Muna'fi'qeen] are like deaf, dumb and blind ones and for that reason/resultantly they do not pay heed/respond. [2:18]

Or (example of Mun'afi'qeen is of that person) as if that had overtaken him, from the sky,  in which there are layers of darkness and thunder and lightning. They press their fingers in their ears to keep out from stunning thunder-clap in terror of death. But Allah is ever encompassing all those who have deliberately/constantly refused to accept. [2:-19]

May be it is near that lightening blurs/obscures their vision.

Whenever there is light they walk therein, and when darkness falls upon them they stand still.

  And if it was the will of Allah He could have taken away their faculty of hearing and vision.

Indeed, Allah has eternally the infinite power over each and every thing. [2:20]

O you the Mankind, you people be subservient to [Will/Command/ Book of] your Sustainer Lord Who is the One Who created you people and those people [earlier generations] who existed in times before you,

o

 so that you could endeavor to be cautious, heedful and mindful. [2:21]

He [Your Sustainer Lord] is the One Who has for you people spread out the Earth in the manner of  a floor/carpet; [to make your sojourn/stay comfortable in the world]

 and made the Sky in the manner of a canopy.

And from the Sky He sent water

[Also exact these words are in 14:32]

 then with that He took out a variety of fruits/shrubs, as your means of subsistence.

Therefore/for this reason [He being the Sole Creator of Universe] you people do not ascribe for Allah partners/equals, and you people know this [since universe is like one unit before your eyes, and you know unit belongs to One only]. [2:22]

And if some amongst you are caught in a state of suspicion/perplexity regarding The Book which We have gradually sent upon Our Sincere Servant [that he has authored/compiled it-10:38;11:13,35; 32:03; 46:08]

then, to prove your self as truthful in expressing your suspicion/perplexity, bring one "Sura'tin" [demarcated chapter, from anywhere in the world, including Mecca, Ma'deena] resembling this;

  and for the needful you may invite/get help from all your friends/helpers/lawyers except Allah, if you are truthful [in your saying/observation in ] [2:23]

Sequel to this effort, if you could not do it, and certainly you cannot ever do it [since it is neither authored/compiled by the Messenger nor can be authored by beings, both Human and Jinn] then, consequently, be afraid of fire,

 the fuel/charred/affected by it/the fire would be men and stones,

 that hell-fire [Prison} has been made for those who persistently refuse to accept. [2:24]

And you [The Messenger] give glad tidings to those who accept/believe and perform deeds/acts righteously/moderately [as directed in the Book], that for them are the gardens/abodes, beneath/side by which streams flow".

Every time when they will be fed with fruits there from for eating, they will say: "this fruit is one which was given to us aforetime". And they will be given things in resemblance [of their perceptions].

And for them are therein purified/clean hearted companions/mates;

 and they shall abide therein permanently. [2:25]

Certainly (what to say of explaining with gigantic similitude, given earlier) Allah does not feel shy/ reluctant/embarrassed/constrained that He may quote/strike/narrate a similitude/example of a female mosquito or even a smaller female than her;

consequently, those who have believed they know that it is the fact from their Sustainer Lord;

and those who have rejected/refused to accept the Message (call of Messenger) they purposefully say "What Allah intends by giving this example/similitude?"

By giving example He lets/exposes/proves many neglectful/straying [who wish to remain unrestrained] and with it He guides many [who seek/wish guidance];

and/since He does not let by it anyone remain neglectful/straying, except [Al'Fasi'qeen; plural, masculine, active participle; those who get out of the bounds, restrains];[2:26]

 are the ones who break/distort/disown Allah's covenant after it had become binding; and they cut/distance away what Allah has commanded to be approached/joined/maintained [Allah's Book]; and/i.e., this is how they create disturbance/disquiet/confusion in the society.

 These are the people who cause/earn loss to themselves. [2:27] [Diametrically opposite ones 13:20]

How can {being men of intellect} you refuse to accept Allah since you were matter and, for reason [with a determined purpose, by design/will], He gave you people life [created you from matter 6:02].

After lapse of time/period [determined of your life 6:02] He will cause you all to die;

thereafter lapse of time [appointed period of existence of universe] He will revive you all to life;

[to tell you what you did in worldly life].

He is the One Who created for you people, all collectively, whatever is on/in the Earth;

thereafter lapse of time He turned to the one Sky, for reason/cause stretched/proportioned them into seven skies [layer upon layer];

 and He is eternally the Knower of each and everything.
[2:29]

And when your Sustainer Lord said to the angles, "I am granting [Adam] freedom of rule/act/choice/ decision on the Earth";

they opined: "Are You granting the freedom of act to the one who would create therein imbalance/mischief/disquiet and shed blood [talk vanity] while we do celebrate Your praises [we, with Your Praise, persistently remain active in executing work] and Glorify You".

 He said, "I know that about which you do not know". [2:30]

And He taught Adam the particular/peculiar names [of things], all of them.

Thereafter He placed those things before the Angels;

o

  then/for reason He said, "Tell Me the names of these, if you are truthful [about your saying about Adam]" [2:31]

They said, "Glory is for You; We don't have the knowledge [of these]; we know only what You have taught us.

o

 Certainly You are the All Knower and The Wise/Knower of invisible/secreted/infolded." [2:32]

He said, "O Adam! tell them, make them aware/knowledgeable with the names of these things".

In compliance, when he had told them the names of those things,

Allah said: "Did I not tell you that I know the secrets/for you invisibly existing things of the Skies and the Earth,

 and I know what you people reveal and what you people conceal/withhold from saying?" [2:33]

However [prior to it] when We had said for [to] the Angles, "You make obeisance to Adam [when he is created]"; thereupon in compliance thereof they did obeisance, but Ieblees [in response to the command given to him separately] demurred through self pride and so became amongst those who refuse the command. [2:34]

And We said. "O Adam, stay you and your wife as guest in the Garden, and both eat from wherever you wish and like,

 however you both don't go near this female tree/taste its fruit, otherwise you would become from those who interrupt/use things without right/permission" [2:35]

Then did Satan cause [by deceptively telling two conjectural and sensational myths about the tree which veiled the command for Adam] both two of them slip from the given advice; and resultantly caused ouster of both two of them from the state (of felicity) in which they had been

since/and We said: "You go down to earth all,

(even there) some of you will be enemy for some others;

    and for you people the dwelling-place and your means of livelihood is in the earth up to an appointed time". [2:36] [Read in conjunction 7:24; 20:123]

Then [recognizing the wrong/regretful ness caused] Adam learnt/met/acquaint from his Sustainer Lord the words for expressing regrets; therefore (on expressing words of regret seeking overlooking it) his Sustainer Lord focused mercy upon him.

 Certainly He is the One Who is repeatedly forgiving/pays attention, The Merciful. [2:37]

 We said: "You go down out of this place [to earth] you jointly, (don't feel disappointed/ frustrated)

 then when comes to you people Guidance from Me then whosoever physically acts/exclusively follows My Guidance [given in Aa'ya'at of Book, without there being some third party intervention]

[This sequel/result is also told at the end of 5:69;6:48;7:35;46:13]o

consequently upon such people for reason of having exclusively acted on My Guidance, there is no cause of fear for them and neither shall they grieve. [2:38] [This is the eternal Rule in time and space for salvation and success and return to Original Abode. All those, who refused and opted to conduct themselves on conjectural myths, hearsay, presumptions, speculative assertions, non verifiable sayings, have no scope of salvation. Therefore read seriously in conjunction with 6:130; 7:35; 20:123; 23:66,67,105,106;39:59,71,72;45:31, to acquaint what is being asked and happening on the Day of Judgment. None is asking about not following the traditions of older generations/history as has been told today and reiterated in exactly identical 2:134,141

And those people who deliberately refused and publicly contradicted Our Aa'ya'at ( of the Book)
