[جار و مجرور Prepositional Phrase]
شبه الجملة
Giving a glimpse of a verbal
sentence but actually is not a full sentence. Such types of
clauses are termed
شبه الجملة
Related to Predicate/Comment- [خبر]
The Predicate/Comment of Nominal Sentence may be a single word which will be in nominative case, a
phrase, or an entire sentence. When it is an entire sentence, that
sentence will have its own structure and all the rules will apply to
it as well. If the Comment is a
Prepositional Phrase, as is the case here; or is an Adverbial Phrase we will need to assume a hidden verb to
which these phrases will connect. That omitted/elided verb, along with these
phrases, would then become an entire/embedded sentence and then the
comment/predicate/خبر for the greater sentence.
[Grammatically it will always be considered in nominative
state]

[مبتدأ مرفوع بالضمة] Subject/Topic-Noun: Definite
with definite articleأل;
masculine. It
is nominative with the apparent short vowel sign
on the last consonant.
[Subject/Topic-مبتدأ
is one/first of the 8
roles a noun can play in a sentence that would make it
مَرْفُوْع (in the state of nominative
رفع).
The subject/topic of a
Nominal sentence is either a single word which will be in nominative case, or it may be a phrase of
undetermined length. But it cannot be a complete sentence. However,
it should be remembered that when the topic of a sentence is a
phrase, that phrase may itself contain embedded sentence(s).
The subject/topic of a sentence
cannot be one of the following two things.
*
a prepositional phrase
**
an adverbial phrase
When these two entities appear to be the
topic of a sentence, they are in fact the comment and the order of
the sentence has been inverted. |
